All You Need to Know

  • What days are you open?
    For your convenience, our office is open Monday through Saturday for both sick and well child visits. Please call to confirm office hours.
  • Are you accepting new patients?
    Yes, we always welcome new patients. Contact our office for additional information or request an appointment.
  • How do we contact the doctor after hours?
    Our providers are available 24 hours a day. Call the office at (609) 581-4480 and follow prompts to reach the provider on call. Please be aware that after-hours calls are intended for urgent medical issues that cannot wait until the next business day. Calls are typically returned within 15 minutes. Please call back if you have not received a timely response.

  • Do you accept my health insurance plan?
    We accepts most insurance plans. You are responsible for all deductibles, co-insurance, or other balances not paid by your insurance. Co-payments must be paid at the time of your office visit.

    For your convenience, we accept MasterCard®, Visa®, American Express®, personal checks, and cash.
  • How often should I schedule a checkup?
    The American Academy of Pediatrics Bright Futures program recommends routine well visits.  In the first 3 years of life this typically consists of newborn visits with additional visits a 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, 15 months, 18 months, 2 years and 2 1/2 years old.  Starting at 3 years old the well visits are scheduled yearly until adulthood.   A well visit may be a checkup or a complete exam, and provides an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about various health issues.  Your health care provider may also order important age-appropriate screenings at this time.  These screening may include vision and hearing, developemental and autism screenings as well as mental health questionaires for new mom's (typically done during your infants first 6 months of life) and teenagers 12 and older. Periodic follow-up visits may also be recommended for patients who have chronic health conditions.
  • How often does my child need to be seen in the office?
    Our routine health maintenance visit schedule follows the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccine guideline for children.
  • How do I see a specialist?
    For non-urgent referrals: when one of our doctors refers you to a specialist, please schedule your appointment with the specialist and then call our referral coordinator in our office within two business days of your appointment. Your referral will be available in two business days. Most referrals are completed electronically and submitted directly to the specialist's office. Please check with our office staff to determine if your insurance plan processes referrals electronically.

    For urgent referrals: when one of our doctors determines that you need an urgent referral, your referral will be initiated immediately. Please remain in our office while your referral is processed, then proceed to your specialist.
  • When will I receive lab or test results?
    You will receive a call right away with any lab results that require urgent attention. Other abnormal lab results will be addressed in a timely fashion. Normal values are usually not reported, however, you are welcome to call our office to request a copy of your results.
  • How do I obtain a prescription refill?
    Please call our main office number. Allow one business day for all routine prescription refills. As it may take three to five days to obtain approval for prescriptions that require prior authorization from your insurance company, please plan your refills accordingly. Prescription refills for controlled substances such as pain medications are refilled Monday through Friday only durning an office visit.
  • What is a Pediatrician?
    A pediatrician is a medical doctor who specializes in the care of children. Pediatricians have undergone special training in the health and illnesses of infants, teens and young adults, and the majority of pediatricians are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics after passing a comprehensive exam.

    Pediatricians provide preventive health care for children in good health and medical care for children who are acutely or chronically ill. They also provide parents with support and advice with issues such as growth and development, safety and prevention, nutrition, and emotional wellness to foster a lifetime of good health.
  • Can I meet my pediatrician before my baby is born?
    Yes, in fact we strongly encourage parents-to-be to visit our office for a prenatal appointment. This is a great way to get acquainted with our office and our doctors. During this visit, we will answer any questions that you have about our practice or your new child. Call us for a pre-natal appointment.

  • Why does my child need to receive vaccinations?
    Immunizations are a series of shots given to children at different ages to help ward off serious, and potentially fatal, childhood diseases. Making sure your child receives immunizations when scheduled is the best way to help protect your child from potentially fatal diseases. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, vaccinations have reduced the number of infections from vaccine-preventable diseases by more than 90%.
