Please Note:
The primary insurance for a child is chosen according to the "Birthday Rule". Whichever parent has the first birthday of the year, regardless of the year, is appointed by the insurance companies involved as the primary insurance carrier for the child.
We are required by the insurance companies to bill that insurance company first and the other insurance company as secondary. Please check with your insurance company if you have any questions regarding the "Birthday Rule".
This coordination of benefits is critical to the billing process and will keep us from billing you for services that are covered by your insurance carrier.
